Dr. Oluyemi Akande is a calm and calculated personality and a lover of qualitative education; Born on the 10th of October 1963 to the family of Mr. Lamidi Akande Gbadamosi of Ile Aduloju, Oke-Offa Baba Isale, Ibadan. I obtained my First School Leaving Certificate in 1974 at St. Andrew Primary School, Idi-oro, Oyo Road Ibadan, Oyo State. WAEC (O/L – 1983) at Araromi Community High School, Atan-Ota, Ogun State and WAEC (A/L – 1985) at School of Basic Studies, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. After this, I proceeded to the University of Ibadan where I graduated from the Department of Geography in 1988. I have worked in various capacities in the private sectors and served as a class teacher in the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission. Having obtained my M.Sc in Geography and Planning with Special Option in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System-GIS from the University of Lagos in 1992. I joined the Federal Civil Service as Senior Land Resources Officer where I rose to the position of Deputy Director in 2012. Within this period, the paraphernalia of office did not deter me from pursuing my cherished academic desires. I obtained my Ph.D degree in Environmental Management from the University of Nigeria Nsuka in 2012. I have travelled far and wide for various leadership training courses in Israel, Kenya, Netherlands, United Kingdom etc and there are no states in Nigeria I have not travelled to either for seminars, conferences and field works. I have published several papers in National and Internatioanl Journals and Conferences Proceedings. I was appointed the Substantive Provost/CEO. of Federal College of Land Resources Technology (FECOLART), Owerri under Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development in May 7, 2015 till date. I am a Board Member, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna Nigeria. Member Board of Directors, All-Workers Microfinance Bank, Owerri. Member, Board of Trustee: Sustainable Cassava Farmers & Processing Development Association of Nigeria (SCAFPAN). Fellow, Gender Studies Association of Nigeria (GSAN). I have numerous awards to my credit. Also, an ASCONIAN. I am notorious in constantly admonishing anyone close to me to “upgrade themselves” which is my subtle way of encouraging the younger ones to further their education. Under my watch, a lot of developmental projects have been attracted and executed in the College where I am serving as the CEO. I have uplifted so many people who came across me. I am happily married with Lady Stella Ndidiamaka Akande and we are blessed with beautiful children namely: Kemi, Abidemi, Olayemi and Olushola. I am a night of St. Christopher of Anglican Communion.
